Maren Brown's artwork was featured in the 6th Annual Spring Juried Show at The James Library and Center for the Arts, held from March 21 to April 26, 2025. The exhibition showcased contemporary art from a variety of artists, including Brown's piece Travelogues: Black Mountain (2024). Brown's painting was created using egg tempera on panel and reflects her personal interpretation of the Black Mountain, North Carolina landscape. The piece blends imagery of the region's rock formations with its lush greenery, offering a unique visual narrative of the area. Juror Alison Rudnick, Associate Curator, Department of Drawings and Prints, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, selected Travelogues: Black Mountain as the recipient of the Best in Show award.
